Food is one of life’s sustaining factors. It is one of Thailand’s most important exports, valuing at over 90,000 million Bath annually, and growing. With intensive competition, standard quality and safety is often cited in trade protectionism. Food research and testing will ensure Thai people’s health and overall hygiene, increase food product standard so that it is competitive in world market, promote food product export, and support the agricultural and industrial sectors.
